BASISystems isn’t a standalone company, but rather the equipment design and manufacturing arm of BASI® Pilates (Body Arts and Science International). Their story is intrinsically linked to the founding of BASI® Pilates in 1989 by world-renowned Pilates educator Rael Isacowitz.

Rael, passionate about both the art and science of Pilates, established BASI® Pilates to offer comprehensive Pilates education programs grounded in Joseph Pilates’ original teachings. However, Rael recognized the importance of specialized equipment for optimal practice. This vision led to the creation of BASISystems in 2015, based in Istanbul, Turkey.

BASISystems combined decades of research from BASI® Pilates with state-of-the-art engineering to create innovative Pilates reformers, chairs, and other equipment. They prioritized functionality that seamlessly complemented the BASI® Pilates teaching methodology. A key innovation was the F2 System, a unique spring mechanism that offered unprecedented versatility and precision in resistance settings.
